Marli Simmonds Marli Simmonds 12, of Troy died December 31, 2006 . Services for Marli will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday January 4, 2007 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple with Rev. Roy Parker officiating. Burial will be at Bellwood Memorial Park. Marli was born July 3, 1994 the daughter of Leslie Anne Whiteley and Scott Edmund Simmonds. She was a sixth grade student at the Troy Middle School . She was preceded in death by her Great Grandparents Jim and Daurice Bowmer. She is survived her mother Leslie Anne Whiteley and her father Scott Edmund Simmonds. She is also survived by three Sisters Emily Brooke Melvin, Abigail Marie Simmonds and Jackie Nell Simmonds as well as grandparents Joe and Wanda Whiteley, Larry and Bonnie Neal, and David D. Simmonds. Other survivors are uncles Joe Scott Whiteley, Dan DeWitt Simmonds, and Brian Allen Neal and aunts Susan Coleman, Judy Hudson, Mary Helen Schreiner, and Julie Neal Dickerson. We will greatly miss our little Marli. She was a very special little girl who was dearly loved and brought great joy to her family. She never spoke or took a step, but she could say a thousand words through her big green eyes. She loved to take rides on the golf cart and sit in the backyard swing with her best friend – her grandpa. Marli's will to live and courageous fight has changed us and shown us all a great example of an amazing human spirit. We know she is in heaven now dancing a beautiful dance and singing a beautiful song. A family visitation will be held from 5:30 until 7:30 PM Wednesday at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple.
