Mary Alice Wall

Mary Alice (Boyd) Wall was born October 29, 1932, in Clyde Texas to Charles Elmer Boyd and Georgia Mae (Virden) Boyd. She spent most of her school years in Abilene Texas school system. The family relocated to Temple, Texas in 1949. She graduated Temple High in May 1951. At her graduation reception, she met Cecil Vernon Wall and they started a courtship shortly thereafter. Cecil and Mary married September 5, 1953, with Reverend Garland Shell, of Grace Presbyterian Church officiating.

Cecil worked as a truck driver and with the highway department, so they followed his work assignments until 1958 when they settled in Frisco, Texas. In 1962, they moved back to Temple and Mary took a position with Scott and White where she had worked before her marriage. She retired from Scott & White October 31, 1997.

While living in Frisco, they helped organize a Presbyterian Church by meeting in homes continuing through construction of a permanent church building. Mary was the piano and organ player for the church; she also sang and taught Sunday School to the children. She enjoyed music and spent many days practicing. She was present at many of her son's and granddaughter's concerts and loved listening to music even at home. She and Cecil were long time members of and active in Grace Presbyterian Church until health required that they step back from their activities.

Mary died Saturday June 7th at Canyon Creek Memory Care. The family has heartfelt thanks for the staff of Canyon Creek Memory Care and Baylor Scott and White Hospice Care for all they did for Mary. Their prayers, medical monitoring, treatment and support to Mary and family has been and is wonderful.

A visitation will take place on Friday, June 13, 2025 from 5:30pm - 7:30pm at Scanio-Harper Funeral home in Temple.

A funeral service will take place on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 10:30am at the funeral home with Pastor Naomi Ingrim officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 67 years and sister.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Vernon Leslie "Les" Wall and Barbara Jean Wall of Pflugerville Texas, her two granddaughters, Christine Wall of Pflugerville, Texas and Lindsey Wall of Stephenville, Texas.
