

Mary Lou Jeter, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 94. Born in Tira, Texas, Mary Lou’s life was marked by her devotion to family, faith, and community. She was married for 74 wonderful years to her loving husband, Joe Jeter of Cooper, Texas, who remains by her side even now in spirit. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised a close-knit family, which includes their cherished children Randy Jeter and Jill Jeter.
Mary Lou was a loving grandmother to Travis Houston, Chelsea Jeter, and Alyssa Jeter, and her legacy lives on in each of them. Her love for family extended far beyond her immediate circle; she was a devoted supporter, encourager, and organizer, sharing her wisdom and compassionate advice with friends and coworkers alike.
After raising her kids to their teens, Mary Lou had a fulfilling career in school administration with Temple Independent School District, as an early adopter of computers, and was administrative assistant for the Temple Education Foundation. She also ran her own business, Precise Type, where her attention to detail and dedication to excellence earned her respect and admiration. Known for her natural organizational skills, Mary Lou was a gifted planner and sought perfection and class in every role she undertook.
Mary Lou was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, Avolonte, and served as a Boy Scout den mother, leaving a lasting impression on the lives she touched. Her favorite moments were spent supporting her family, encouraging their dreams, attending every activity of her children and grandchildren, and sharing in family vacations that created memories to last a lifetime.
Mary Lou is survived by her devoted husband, Joe Jeter; her sister, Peggy Deaton; her children, Randy and Jill; and her grandchildren, who will carry forward her love, strength, and wisdom. She is preceded by her parents, Leslie and Beulah Wester, brother Joe Wester, and sisters Ina Withrow, Linda Andrasko, and Sandi Wester. She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all whose lives she enriched.
Private graveside services will be held at Tira Cemetery
