Monica D. Hayes Selman

Monica D. Hayes Selman, age 50, of Temple died Thursday, February 21, 2008 at her residence. Services for Monica will be at 2:00 PM Monday, February 25, 2008 at the Memorial Baptist Church in Temple with Rev. Roy Parker and Rev. Robert Mattson officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park. Monica was born June 18, 1957 in Lake Charles, Louisiana the daughter of Douglas B. and Doris Ann Thornton Hayes. She married Ronnie Selman January 17, 1997 in Williamson County, Texas. Monica was a Vice President of Lending with the Texell Credit Union for nine years retiring in 2007. She was a member of the Central Texas Chapter of the Republican Women, Altrusa, Director of Texas Union League, Central Texas Chapter of Credit Unions, where she held all offices and was an Ambassador of the Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce. She was a longtime faithful member of the Memorial Baptist Church in Temple. She is survived by her husband Ronnie Selman of Temple, parents, Douglas B. and Doris A. Thornton Hayes of San Antonio, a daughter, Brandi Selman Schaub of Harker Heights and stepdaughter, Stephanie Selman Favors of Austin. She is also survived by two sisters, Jacquelyne Hayes Tate of Austin and Michele Hayes Nelson of Bastrop, a brother, Danny Hayes of Livingston, a grandson, Warren Favors of Austin and granddaughters, Bailey, Morgan and Jordan Schaub of Harker Heights. Visitation will be held from 4-6PM Sunday February 24, 2008 at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple.
