JULY 17, 2009 NELLIE MAURENE WADSWORTH Mrs. Nellie Maurene Wadsworth, 80 of Temple died Friday July 17, 2009 in a Temple hospital. Services for Mrs., Wadsworth will be held at 1:00 PM Monday July 20, 2009 at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple with Rev. Tom Robbins and Rev. Hubert Austin officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park. Mrs. Wadsworth was born in Bangs, Texas March 29, 1929 the daughter of Robert and Ethel Reese Hoppe. She was a graduate of Bangs High School and married Kenneth Wadsworth March 2, 1946 in Comanche, Texas. She was a life long member of the United Methodist Church. She had been a Temple resident for more than forty years. Mrs. Wadsworth is survived by her husband Kenneth Wadsworth of Temple by a son Steven Wadsworth and wife Vicki of Temple as well as a daughter Kay Birkholz and husband Howard of Temple. Mrs. Wadsworth is also survived by a brother Merlin Hoppe of Georgetown, Texas. She was preceded in death by a brother Milton Hoppe and a sister Adalene Dietz. Mrs. Wadsworth is survived by six grandchildren Mark and his wife Meredith Birkholz of Kingwood, Texas, Chris and wife Natalie Birkholz of Temple, Texas, Jennifer and husband Chris Stuart of Tuscan, AZ, Shelly Wadsworth of Temple, Justin Wadsworth of Temple and Clay Wadsworth of Temple. A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 PM Sunday July 19, 2009 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church, 102 North Second Street, Temple, Texas 76501 or the charity of the donor's choice.
