Nita Lou Smith

Nita Lou Terrell Smith, age 77, of Temple died Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at her residence. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, July 22, at St. Francis Episcopal Church located at 5001 Hickory Road, Temple, Texas 76502. Mrs. Smith was born February 5, 1929 in Temple to Preston and Nita Pardo Terrell. She graduated from Temple High School and Stephens College in Missouri. She married Happy Smith on May 28, 1949. Nita Lou was a proud volunteer for: March of Dimes, Scott & White Mended Hearts, Cub Scout Leader and Girl Scout Leader. She was an active member of Floral Arts Garden Club and Cotillion Dance Club of Temple. Survivors include her husband, Happy Smith, one son, Terry Smith and wife, Janet and one daughter, Sandra Dailey and husband, Richard all of Temple; grandchildren, Amber Massey and husband, Thomas of Austin, Travis Smith of Houston, Patrick Smith of Temple and Nicole Saverse and husband, David of Temple; great-grandchildren, Tristin and Korbyn Saverse of Temple and Grace and Fiona Massey of Austin; nephew, Preston Doss and beloved pet, Pudge.
