Paul was born on August 24, 1944, in Bagni di Lucca, Italy, to Renato and Pauline (Citti) Contrucci. He was raised in Union City, New Jersey, where he attended St. Michael’s High School and graduated with a strong foundation of faith and discipline. With a lifelong commitment to learning and helping others, Paul pursued higher education at Loyola University New Orleans and later the University of Houston School of Pharmacy, where he earned his degree and began his calling as a pharmacist.
Paul devoted an extraordinary 53 years to the profession he loved. His career included one year at St. Joseph Hospital, two years at Hermann Hospital, 30 years with Eckerd’s Pharmacy, and 20 years serving veterans at the Temple VA. Throughout his career, Paul cared for countless patients with compassion, precision, and integrity. His dedication did not go unnoticed—he was recognized for 50 years of service, named Pharmacist of the Year, and served as president of the local hospital pharmacy association. To many, Paul was more than a pharmacist; he was a trusted friend and steady presence.
In addition to his professional service, Paul was actively involved in numerous civic committees in Temple, Texas, generously giving his time and leadership to help strengthen the community he loved.
A man of deep faith, Paul was a former member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Temple and a current member of Taylor’s Valley Baptist Church. His faith led him beyond local service, as he participated in multiple mission trips to Mexico and Romania, offering help and hope wherever it was needed.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Lynda Sepulvado Contrucci of Temple; his children, Amy Hodges and husband Joey of Temple, and John Contrucci and wife Melissa of Mason, Texas; and his cherished grandchildren, Hudson, Jackson, Emerson, and Colson Contrucci of Mason, and Zoey Hodges of Temple.
