Peggy Joyce Dismukes Updyke

Peggy Joyce Dismukes Updyke, was born April 20, 1941, Easter Sunday, to Willis H. and Irma Beatty Dismukes, in San Antonio, Texas. She went to heaven on November 8, 2007. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 12, 2007 at the Heights Baptist Church in Temple with Rev. Billy Koinm and Dr. Tom Henderson officiating. The Dismukes moved to Ralls, Texas in 1952, where Peggy graduated in 1959. She was united in marriage to Thomas Updyke, on August 12, 1962. To this union two children were born; Thomas Michael and Tisha Michelle. A stay at home mom until the kids left home, Peggy was off to get her college degree and find a job. She worked for the State of Texas and in nursing homes, as a psychologist, a counselor, and a social worker. She was also a Chaplain. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Tommy of Temple; a son Mike Updyke and his wife Debby of Littleton, Colorado; a daughter Tisha Diffie and her husband Larry of Phoenix, Arizona; a brother, Eddie Dismukes of San Angelo, a sister, Giselle Dismukes of Ralls; four grandchildren, Katie and Becca of Littleton, Colorado, Christian and Brianna of Phoenix, Arizona; and several cousins.
