Richard C. Vaughan, age 84 of Temple, died Monday, July 21, 2014 at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, July 28, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Minister Loyd Hall officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 - 11:00 AM Monday prior to the service. Mr. Vaughan was born November 24, 1929 in Dallas to Herbert Lee and Vera Ewing Vaughan. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas and was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He was owner of Gem Pawn Shop in Temple. He was a business man and rancher and was an avid golfer. He was a member of Western Hills Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Mary Vaughan, two daughters, Brenda Herndon and husband, Jake and Melissa Prather and husband, Craig, six grandchildren, Shayla and Case Herndon and Jenna, Adam, Dylan and Julia Prather all of Temple.
