
Richard W. Shaw, age 73 of Temple formerly of Fort Worth, died Saturday, June 22, 2013 in a local nursing center. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 25, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Rhoades officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be 5:30 - 7:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Shaw was born May 1, 1940 in Houston to Thomas Oscar and Frances Rebecca Chandler Shaw. He graduated from Smiley High School in Houston and was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. He was a longtime resident of Fort Worth and had lived in Belton for the past six years. He worked as a truck driver for many years. He was a member of Free Pentecostal Church of Jesus in Belton. He was also a member of the NRA. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Tommy Shaw and Robert Shaw and sister, Carolyn Dexter. Survivors include a half sister, Debbie Hoggard and husband, Wayne of Bryan; sister-in-law, Jerrie Shaw of Temple; brother-in-law, Don Dexter of Rockdale; five nieces, Amy, Emily, Tracey, Sherry and Jennifer and nephew, Randy. Memorial donations may be made to Scott & White Hospice or Scott & White Vasicek Cancer Research Center.
