Mr. Robert (Bob) Calvin Lanford Robert (Bob) Calvin Lanford, 88, of Temple died Friday March 31, 2006 in a Temple hospital. Graveside services will be held Tuesday April 4, 2006 at 2:00 PM at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple. Memorial services will follow at 4:00 PM at Temple Bible Church in Temple with Rev, Gary DeSalvo officiating. Mr. Lanford was born in Blanket, Texas the son of Lawrence and Byrd Lanford; he was one of eight children. He graduated from Texas A & M in 1941 and served in the U.S. Army through World War II, seeing action in North Africa, Belgium, France and Germany, attaining the rank of Major. He married the former Nan Mickle, his wife of 58 years, on March 28. 1948. He worked at Johnson's Men Store and then for many years as Business Manager for the Temple Daily Telegram until his retirement in 1983. He was an active member of Temple Bible Church. He served a term as President while on the board of Temple Family Welfare, and served as an elder at First Christian Church. He is survived by his wife Nan Lanford of Temple and son Ray and wife Patricia of Belton daughter Claire Boettcher of Tyler son Mark and wife Maryanna of Central Asia, and seven grandchildren Clint Boettcher of Huntsville, Lisa Boettcher of Madison, Wisconsin, Nathan and Robert Lanford of Temple and Laura, Julia and Benjamin Lanford of Central Asia. He is also survived by his brother Don Lanford of Austin, Texas sister Ruth Williamson of Keller, Brother Sam Lanford of Urbana, Illinois, and Sister Louise Looney of New Waverly. A family visitation will be held from 6 until 7 PM Monday April 3, 2006 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple.
