Robert Bryan Rush

Robert Bryan Rush, age 99, of Temple, Texas died Sunday, November 4, 2012 at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 15, at the Drury Inn, 820 Trenton Ave., Findlay, Ohio. Burial will be at Knollcrest Gardens in Arcadia, Ohio. Mr. Rush was born on July 19, 1913 in Marion, Ohio to Lester and Ruth (Petty) Rush. He attended school in Findlay, Ohio. He served in the National Guard for six years and later served in the Navy. He married Martha Rose Haley on November 4, 1934. They lived in Findlay where Mr. Rush worked as a tradesman until 1974 when they moved to Coldwater, Michigan. In 1992 they returned to Findlay until 2004 when they moved to Temple, Texas to live with their daughter and son-in-law. Mr. Rush kept busy even in his retirement, engaging in numerous activities including model ship building. He was preceded in death by his lovely wife of 74 years; his son, Michael Kent Rush; his son-in-law, Donald R. Cooney, MD; his three sisters: Jane Moser, Lucy Pollack, and Virginia Zeiter; and brother, Paul Rush. Survivors include his daughter, Diane E Cooney, of Temple, Texas; one brother, Don Rush, of Bucyrus, Ohio; and daughter-in-law, Rose Mary Rush of Findlay, Ohio. Also surviving is one granddaughter, Beth Rush of Toledo, Ohio, two grandsons, Damon Sean Cooney, MD, PhD, and his wife, Carisa Miller Cooney of Baltimore, Maryland; Derek Robert Cooney, MD, and his wife Norma Laurel Cooney, MD, of Syracuse, New York; four great-grandsons: Matthew Robert Cooney (age 7), Andrew Charles Cooney (age 6), Thomas Michael Cooney (age 4) and Patrick Donald Cooney (age 3), all of Syracuse; one great-granddaughter, Boudicea Victoria Cooney (age 3) of Baltimore; and two step great-granddaughters, Jessica Erin Kraemer and Lauren Geneva Kraemer, both of Bryan, Ohio.
