
Robert Monroe Parrish, Sr. was born July 16, 1934, went to be with the Lord on May 26, 2008. After four years serving our country in the Navy, he went on to serve 12 more years in the Army. Robert (Pawpaw) was a strong willed man who instilled the same trait into his family. He was also a well accomplished musician, and an exceptional pianist known as "Silver Finger". Robert played with legends such as Warren Storm, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash, as well as several well known gospel groups. He formed his own gospel group with his wife and his children too. Robert Monroe Parrish, Sr. is preceded in death by his parents, one grandchild, two brothers, one sister, and a daughter, Rebecca Tovar. He is survived by spouse, Reva N. Parrish of Temple, children, Deborah Bebout and husband Charlie of Jacksonville, Illinois, Russell Parrish of Jacksonville, Florida, Juanita Buckholz and husband Ronald of Houston, Texas, and Robert Parrish, Jr. and wife Lacie of Temple; one sister, Ruby Jeanette Newton of Jacksonville, Florida; ten grandchildren, Amanda, Felicia, Reva, Kassie, Alexis, Robert III, Joshua, Vanessa, Tiffany, and Breanna; four great-grandchildren, Noah, Renea, Elicia, Melissa and one on the way. Family tradition was very important to Robert (Pawpaw) and we will forever continue that tradition in his memory. Military graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2008 at the Temple Garden of Memories with Rev. Kevin Avery officiating. Memorials may be made to Texas Home Health Hospice, 3001 West Waco Dr., Suite B, Waco, Texas 76707-3272. The family would life to thank the staff at Regency Manor immensely for all of their tender loving care of our husband, father and Pawpaw. It will always be greatly appreciated and never forgotten.
