
Robert Phillips Curry, 76, of Belton died Tuesday June 19, 2007 at his residence. Services for Mr. Curry will be held at 2:00 PM Friday June 22, 2007 at Christ Episcopal Church with Rev. David Alwine officiating. Burial will be private. Mr. Curry was born October 27, 1930 in Stephens, Arkansas the son of Robert J. and Ethel Phillips Curry. Mr. Curry graduated from Magnolia High School in Magnolia Arkansas he attended and graduated from the University of Arkansas while at the university he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. After college he worked for Atlantic Refining Co. in Odessa, Texas Casper Wyoming and Denver Colorado. Mr. Curry and family moved to Temple in 1964. In 1966 he founded Permocast Corporation which has been a continuously family operated business since its inception. Mr. Curry was a longtime member of Christ Episcopal Church in Temple and was previously a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church where he served a vestryman. He had been a Boy Scout Leader as well as a Little League Coach and Sponsor and was active in many youth sports activities. He married the former Florine Peters February 4, 1956 in Temple. He is survived by his wife Florine "Flo" Peters Curry of Belton one daughter Amanda Curry of Austin one son Robert Matthew "Matt" Curry and his wife Debbie of Belton one brother Horace L. Curry and his wife Dana of Temple three grandchildren Catherine Elizabeth Curry of Belton, Allison Michelle Curry of Belton and Robert Garrett Curry of Belton, two nephews Scott A. Curry of Denver, Colorado and Kevin Curry of Dallas. Pallbearers will be Scott A. Curry, Kevin Curry, James Mullins, Dr. Robert E. Myers, George Shaw, Tom Collins, Ed Hinkle and Robert Kennedy. A family visitation will be held from 6 until 7 PM Thursday June 21, 2007 at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Christ Episcopal School 300 North Main Street Temple, Texas 76501
