Ronnie Allen

Ronnie Allen, age 57, of Academy died Thursday, May 7, 2009 in a local hospital. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 9, at Gateway Baptist Church in Gatesville with Rev. Royse Cockrell officiating. Burial will follow at Meridian Cemetery in Meridian. Visitation will be 6:00 - 7:30 PM Friday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Mr. Allen was born June 4, 1951 in Clifton to Gerald A. and Margie (McKamie) Allen. He was reared and educated in Meridian and graduated from Meridian High School in 1970. He attended TSTI in Waco. He married Paula Trimble on October 2, 1971. He was in the trucking business most of his life. He was employed at Stampede Creek Transportation in Temple at the time of his death. Survivors include his wife, Paula Allen of Academy, his mother, Margie Allen of Meridian, one daughter, Shelley Carlisle and husband, Dave of Kopperl, two sons, Brian Allen and wife, Naomi and Jarrod Allen and wife, Amanda all of Austin and four grandchildren, Aaron Carlisle, Cameron Carlisle, Makayla Brook Kelly and Brody Allen. Also surviving are two brothers, Keith Allen of Meridian, Robby Allen of Waco and one sister, Susie Carpenter and husband, Mike of Meridian.
