Shirley Jean White

Mrs. White died Saturday at her residence.

Mrs. White was born October 10, 1932 in Temple to Vernon Sanders and Lois Flint Sanders.  She graduated from Temple High School.  She married Oscar White April 9, 1954.  He preceded her in death September 5, 2005.  She was a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone and for Scott and White Hospital and was a lifelong care giver.  She was a Methodist and was a Temple resident all of her life.

Mrs. White was also preceded in death by one sister Shelia Mitchell.

Survivors include two daughters Linda Thompson and her husband Greg of Burnet and Carol Phillips and her husband John of Lufkin; two sisters Ruth Holt of Holland and Helen Cagle of Costa Rica; four grandchildren Sarah Phillips and her husband Chris of Lufkin, Becca Popland and her husband Mike of Galveston, Joey Phillips of Lufkin and Susan Thompson and husband Matt of Kingsland; three great grandchildren Jonah Hutto, Georgia Hutto and Simon Popland.

Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
