Susan Martinez Sedillo, age 73, of Troy, Texas passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at a local hospital. She was born on March 30, 1947 in Rogers, Texas the daughter of Alfonso and Simona Martinez.

A visitation will take place on Monday, November 16, 2020 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home 3110 Airport Rd. Temple, Texas 76504 with a Rosary service at 7:00pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at 11:00am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Temple followed by burial at Rogers Cemetery in Rogers, Texas.

Susan was a former member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Temple, she was currently attending and worked for St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Temple and was a teacher’s assistant at Cater Elementary School in Temple.

Susan is survived by her husband Rudy Sedillo of Troy, 3 children; Melissa Jimenez (Edgar Valladares) of Austin, Louis Jimenez, Jr. (Amy Clark) of Temple, and Juan Jimenez (Linda Moreno) of Temple, 4 grandchildren; Haley Jimenez, Brianna Jimenez, Destiny Fernandez, and Isaiah Johnson, 3 great-grandchildren Anniyah, Xavier, and Aianna Howards. She is also survived by 5 brothers, Bacilio Martinez (Regina) of Temple, Texas, Joe Albert Martinez, Sr. (Mary) of Rogers, Texas, Jesse Ray Martinez (Gloria) of Rogers, Texas, David Martinez (Bernadine) of Temple, Texas and Andy Martinez (Elenor) of Rogers, Texas, and 2 sisters, Virginia Martinez of Rogers, Texas and Mary Helen Jimenez of Temple. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Louis Jimenez, and siblings Amelia Sierra, Lucia Lopez, and Alfonso Martinez, Jr.

Susan is bringing her beautiful smile to heaven. She brought her smile every day to school. She brightened the lives of staff and children alike. She was a positive force in nature.

I was so sorry to hear of Susan’s passing. She was a dedicated aide working with some challenging students. She always had a smile for everyone. Students and staff appreciated her hard work and positive, caring attitude. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
