Thomas Edward Wells

Thomas E. Wells, 71 of Temple died Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at his residence. Services for Mr. Wells will be at 11:00AM Saturday at the Memorial Baptist Church in Temple with Rev. Robert Mattson officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco. Mr. Wells was born in Houston, Texas on October 14, 1936 the son of Edward Polk and Velma LaVerne Dobbs Wells. He attended Sunset High School in Dallas, Arlington State University, now University of Texas at Arlington, as well as Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene. He had the rank of SSGT in the Texas National Guard. He is retired from the Xerox Corporation having worked as a Technical Representative. He married the former Peggy Ann Lindloff September 4, 1993 in Waco, Texas. Mr. Wells was an active member of Memorial Baptist Church in Temple, SBEPSQSA Barbershop Chapter, Temple for 14 years, AOPA member 30 years, Coordinator of Texas Baptist Men Lay Ministries from 1972-1990 and currently serving at local church as needed. Mr. Wells is survived by his wife Peggy Wells of Temple his mother Velma LaVerne Wells of Temple, his brother James Ellis Wells of Scottsdale, Arizona, step-daughter Linda Gail Daugherty of Lorena, stepson Johnny Lee Curry, Jr. of Waco and two grandsons. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the music ministry at Memorial Baptist Church, 6161 South 5th Street, Temple, Texas 76502.
