Mr. McKenzie died Thursday in a Temple Hospital.
Mr. McKenzie was born in Rogers February 8, 1938 to Ernest C. McKenzie and Arzena Parker McKenzie. He graduated from Rogers High School in 1956 and attended Temple College and Navarro College. He married Frances Caddell February, 1960. He worked for the Temple Police Department for twenty eight years and then worked for the Bell County Sheriff’s Department for seven years, having retired in 1999. He was a member of Heights Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife Frances McKenzie of Temple; one son Randy McKenzie and his wife Brenda of Georgetown; one daughter Rhonda Powell and her husband Jay of Denton and two grandchildren Keeley McKenzie and Jonathan McKenzie.
Memorials may be made to Heights Baptist Church.
