Wilbur was born February 10, 1930, in Bell County to Oel William and Ada Pauline (Shipley) Jackson. He married the love of his life, Martha Janice Jackson, on July 4, 1955, and the two shared many devoted years together until her passing in April of this year.
Wilbur proudly served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea. He was a longtime member of Troy First Baptist Church, where he found fellowship and community.
A hardworking man throughout his life, Wilbur worked as a barber and later as a truck driver, moving mobile homes across the region. Outside of work, he embraced the outdoors and was well known for his love of fishing and hunting—especially deer, dove, squirrel, and quail. He always had a smile for everyone.
He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Shrum, and her husband James; grandchildren Clay Robbins and Russell C. Robbins; and great-grandchildren Russell J. Robbins and Kevin Robbins.
Wilbur will be remembered for his quiet strength, dedication to family, and the simple joys he found in the land and community he loved.
