

William Keith Carlisle, affectionately known as Bill by friends, Butch by his family and Pawpaw by one very special grandson, passed from this life on Friday, June 21, 2024, in Belton, Texas, after a short battle with cancer. His final moments were spent peacefully at home surrounded by family. Born to Chester and Eva Jo Carlisle on May 11, 1948, Bill was the youngest in their family.
Bill was a proud graduate of Monterey High School, Lubbock, Texas in 1966 and furthered his education at Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas. He excelled at mechanical drawing and loved to work on anything with a motor.
Professionally, Bill held numerous positions in the car business and was an avid fan of classic cars. For most of his career, Bill worked as a multi-line insurance adjuster for himself and other agencies (GAB, Mid-Texas Claim Service, State Farm). He took pride in all his work and forged many friendships during these years.
In 1974, Bill married the love of his life, Karol Carlisle, and they shared 49 years together. He was a devoted father to son, Cody (Dana) and grandfather to Caden.
Bill attended Lakeview Baptist Church and loved to bar-b-que, wander around at car shows, watch the stock market, go deer hunting with Cody or friends, fix anything, and spend time at the lake.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Joe, Freddie and Bert, step siblings Tommy, Billy, Lucille and Pat. He is survived by his wife, son, grandson, sisters Patricia Jones of Lubbock, Texas, and Sharon Fox of Bullard, Texas, mother-in-law, Norma Kay Evans (Lyndel) of Lubbock, Texas, sisters-in-law Kay Bailey (Dickie) of Big Spring, Texas and Kim Creel (Chris) of Lubbock, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests on Monday, June 24 from 5-7 pm at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. A celebration of life service to honor Bill will be held Tuesday, June 25 at 10 am at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Charlie Robinson, Evangelism Director of Lakeview Baptist Church officiating. Bill will be laid to rest at the Pendleton Cemetery.
Those serving as pall bearers are George Shine, Bruce Davis, Dickie Bailey, Chris Creel, Howard Birkholz, and Wayne Pope.
The family appreciates all the calls, cards, texts, errands and food prepared for them during this time. They want to recognize the dedicated staff at Baylor Scott and White Hospice, especially Stacy Wilhite, RN, for her excellence in caring for Bill.
