Willie L. Hansen

Mr. Willie L. "Bill" Hansen, 85 of Temple died Tuesday December 11, 2007 at his residence. Graveside services for Mr. Hansen will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday December 13, 2007 at Bellwood Memorial Park with Dr. Rodney Kruse officiating. Mr. Hansen was born in Lanham, Texas the son of Roland C. and Martha Giese Hansen. He married the former Frieda Good on December 17, 1953 in Marlin, Texas; they soon would have celebrated 54 years of marriage. Mr. Hansen was a veteran of W.W. II having served in the U.S. Army. He retired from civil service at the V.A. Hospital in 1978 having served 37 ½ years as a medical technician. He was a member of the Old Fiddlers Association and had performed in the area for many years. His passion was making and fixing guitars. He was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Temple. Mr. Hansen is survived by his wife Frieda Hansen of Temple 2 daughters Elaine Hansen of Jersey City, New Jersey and Carlene McEwin of Southlake, Texas and 1 son Gary Lynn Hansen of Temple. He is also survived by two grandchildren Aaron and Matthew McEwin both of Southlake, Texas. A family visitation will be held from 7 until 8 PM Wednesday at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple. The family requests that in lieu of flowers that memorials are made to the Scott & White hospital %Development Department for cancer research 2401 South 31st Street Tempe, Texas 76508. Scanio-Harper Funeral Home of Temple is in charge of arrangements.
