

Zachariah Matthew Wright, DEVOTED Husband and Father, Son, Brother, Grandson, Uncle, Nephew, Cousin, Friend and Coach of many died on Sunday, October 9, 2011. He left us way too early. He will be missed by so many. Zach was born on December 16, 1974 at Fort Carson, Colorado. He was raised in Temple, Texas and attended Scott Elementary, Meredith Magnet, Travis Middle School, Temple High School and Temple College. His interests while in school were playing the saxophone in the marching band, playing soccer for THS and Select Teams, and attending Multicultural Trips with his high school classmates and studying the wall construction of an Indian Ruin in Chaco Canyon among other studies. As a young boy his curiosity sometimes got him in trouble but things always turned out okay. He was part of Boy Scouts of America for several years. He was a great reader, always carrying a book in hand. He read all the Star Wars series, Harry Potter, People of the ..(Earth, World, etc.), and many other books. There were times that he was waiting at the door to the bookstore at midnight to get the next edition. He had learned to speed read and spent hours reading. At 13 years old Zach started working as a score keeper at softball games. He worked at McLanes in the landscaping department right out of high school, J & K Irrigation with his father-in-law to be, McLanes Distribution, a night stocker at HEB so that he could go back to college and his most current job was at Nextel/Sprint. Zach had a great desire for knowledge. He studied anything that pertained to philosophical issues. He was a problem solver for anyone who needed a solution. His friends call him a philosopher. Zach started coaching children when his son Braden started soccer and t-ball. He has always loved the sports. He started with Avery with soccer and has a whole team of girls that at any time he treats like his own children and their parents like his brothers and sisters. He has coached two soccer teams during the same season to spread his joy for the game. Zach is survived by his wife April Koczka Wright and two children, son Braden Boyce Koczka Wright and daughter Avery Grace Wright of Belton, mother Molly Sheppard Mikes of Temple, father Robert Lee Wright of Harker Heights, Step father Virgil Eugene Mikes of Oklahoma, brother Joshua Mark Wright and wife Elena, nieces Raven & Lenora of Temple, sister Jessica Leann Mikes of Temple, sister Lynn Bryan and husband Don of Harker Heights, sister Heidi Wright of Washington, brother Robert Wright of Harker Heights, Grandparents Kate and the late WH (Bill) Sheppard of Temple, Grandparents Jean and the late Donald Wright of Colorado, wife's parents Jim and Marsha Koczka, spiritual family friends Jack & Tammy Schuchardt and Jazz & Olivia, aunts & uncles Julie & Bud Maxfield, Amy & Danny Mikes, cousins Erin & Todd Russell & Benjamin, Jenna, Taylor & Brynn Maxfield, Bradley & Pam Mikes & children Nevia, Monica, Lillie, & Bella, Jeremy & Kacy Mikes & children Colter & Kylie, Casey, Corey & Codey Mikes. Memorials are appreciated at Scott & White Credit Union under the names Braden & Avery Wright or to the Sheppard-Taylor Nursing Scholarship Fund at UMHB in Belton. Services are at Scanio Harper Funeral Home, Friday October 14, 2011 at 2:00pm. Private burial at a later date.
