Bev was born fourth of five children in Staten Island, NY. She is predeceased by her three siblings, Bruce Houghton, Frank Houghton and Arlene Holder.
Bev was a bank teller in Chase Manhattan Bank, downtown NYC as her children started school. She was then a homemaker and an invaluable aid to her husband John as they transported special needs children to school. They truly enjoyed this endeavor.
To Bev, family came first. In between milestone celebrations, she spent many years crafting needlepoint that are now beautiful legacies cherished by her family and friends. In her later years she enjoyed spending time with her dear friend, Anthony Olivieri.
Bev is survived by her son Robert Rogers, his wife Lorraine Rogers, daughter Sandra Raia, her husband Eugene Raia. Grandchildren Christopher Rogers, his wife Jaime Rogers, James Rogers, Kelly Friedman, her husband Josh Friedman, Christine Quinn, her husband Casey Quinn, and Jillian Raia. Great-grandchildren Madelyn Friedman, Avery Friedman, and her sister Katherine Keighron.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River from 1pm to 3pm with services to begin promptly at 2:30 pm.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association of NJ.
