

Born in Brooklyn, NY, he resided there and in Staten Island, NY before settling in the Holiday City community of Berkeley 19 years ago.
Prior to retiring, he was the owner and auto mechanic for A&A Repairs in Manhattan, which he operated for over 50 years.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Joan; four children: Debbie Hughes and her husband George, Karen Milazzo and her husband Michael, Vinny Papa and his wife Lisa, and Linda Andriano and her husband Joey; 10 grandchildren: Karisa DeSantis, Chris Hughes, Anthony Neis, Chris Papa, Joe Neis, Michael Hughes, Michele Cillo, Stephanie Mischik, Diana DeFilippo, and Craig Hughes; 14 great-grandchildren: Jessica, Michael, Dominic, Adriana, Vincent, Lincoln, JJ, Grayson, Julia, Briella, Dominic, Hailey, Luca, and Melody; and his brother, Sal Papa and his wife Julie. He was predeceased by his sister, Tina LoBue, in February 2023. More than anything else, Chris was a family man and loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 from 2-4 & 7-9PM at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River.
A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at 10am at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, Berkeley. A private cremation will follow.
