Coral was born in Brooklyn, NY, and raised in Long Island, NY. She moved to Toms River, NJ as a teenager and graduated from Toms River High School (Class of ‘67).
Coral and her husband Allen were married in 1970 and moved to Bayville, NJ where they built a beautiful life together, raising their 3 children, doting on their 10 grandchildren, and enjoying their home with family, many friends, and neighbors. In their 55 years together they embodied the true meaning of family, friendship, generosity, and love.
Coral worked as a Title Searcher for nearly 50 years at the Ocean County Courthouse, where she developed many lifelong friendships with her coworkers, who truly became her extended family.
Coral was a mother to many. Her heart was bigger than the sun and there was room inside for anyone needing love, at any time, for any reason. Her home was an open door to anyone who needed a hug, a listening ear, or a place to lay their head. She showed us unconditional love and the importance of family. She taught us to stand tall with presence, take no nonsense, to never be less than ourselves, and that there was nothing a little lipstick couldn’t fix.
Coral was the epitome of natural beauty. She was giving, thoughtful, and genuine. She spoke proudly of her children and grandchildren to anyone that would listen. She considered her many dear friends and their children a part of her family and made sure they knew how much she loved them.
Coral was a firecracker, often the host and always the life of the party. She loved the sun on her face and the wind in her hair, a true wildflower! She danced to her own beat and taught us all to do the same. She was happiest when surrounded by family, laughing with friends, rocking babies, snuggling with her cats, working in her garden, celebrating joyful occasions, going on adventures with Allen and sitting on the beach with sandy grandchildren on her lap.
Coral is survived by her children, Abby Yedman (Gary), Emily Thomas (George), Joshua Thomas (Kristin); Grandchildren, Bella, Anna, Ryley, Sam, Emma, Henry, Simon, Quincy, Milya, Anya, all of whom she was so proud of; Sister Lois Grauer and her husband Dale, Brother-in-law David Lehmann and his husband David Wilson; Brother-in-law Ernie Thomas and his wife Karen, Brother-in-law John Thomas, Sister-in-law Elizabeth “Betty-Ann” Chiacchio, Nieces and Nephews: Meghan Jean, Ryan, Rachel, Maria, Ricky, Jay, Meredith, Barbara Anne, Bobby, Lana, Jodi, Jennifer, and Erik; and her many many many “adopted” children.
