

Daniel C. Alpaugh, born on July 21, 1954, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, passed away on December 24, 2025, at the age of 71. Known for his generous, honest, humorous, loyal, thoughtful, compassionate, and devoted nature, Dan's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Dan grew up in Clark, New Jersey, and pursued his passion for the culinary arts at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. His dedication to his country was evident through his service in the United States Marine Corps from 1972 to 1978, where he achieved the rank of Corporal.
Dan's career was marked by his exceptional skills as a chef. He was the former owner of the Paramount in Manasquan, New Jersey, and served as a private chef for numerous rock bands and celebrities. His culinary journey ended as the Executive Chef for Joe Leone's in Point Pleasant, New Jersey.
In 1983, Dan married his loving wife, Patricia. He was predeceased by his sister, Kathleen Cuppi, and his parents, Kathleen and Charles Alpaugh. He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia, his brothers-in-law, Armando Cuppi and Nicholas Romano (Nancy), his nieces, Laura (Mike), Brianna (Colin), Amanda (Pete), and his nephews, Nicholas (Audrey) and Anthony. Dan also leaves behind a host of loving great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.
Dan enjoyed fishing and entertaining, and his love of cooking created cherished memories for everyone around him. His impact on the lives he touched was profound, and he will be missed tremendously.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River, NJ. A Celebration of Dan's life will be held at 1:30 p.m.
