

Dorothy Diemer, who loved to be called “Mommsie” by her children, departed her loving family on March 30th 2023. Dorothy was born in Jersey City on August 15th 1926 to Anne and Frank Warn.
She had four brothers and one sister who she cherished until their untimely deaths. Dorothy was mother to Roseann Chesler and Joseph Coppola Jr ‘PJ’). She devoted her life to her children and suffered the loss of her son Joseph in a fire in 2012. She remarried Louis Diemer in 1978 and resided in Toms River NJ. Her life was joyous once she found the love of her life. They enjoyed traveling to Atlantic City and hosting barbeques in the summer and special family dinners during Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter.
Dorothy was a very vibrant, strong and fun-loving woman. She loved to play bingo, go shopping and decorate her home prior to every holiday. She also loved having conversations on the phone and visits from her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She enjoyed her frequent trips to local department stores and her daily encounters with close friends and the Ocean Ride bus driver. Dorothy’s life was always surrounded by devoted friends and family who loved to be with her and she felt the same way about them.
Dorothy enjoyed having fun with her family and friends. She was the ‘talk of the town’ at her 80th and 90th birthday celebration and was already starting to plan for her 100th birthday bash.
She is survived by her daughter and step children. She also has several grandchildren great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews who never forgot to call her and send her special gifts and cookies at holiday time.
Dorothy was also very devoted to her faith. She enjoyed weekly services at the reformed church and looked forward to conversations with Pastor Joe. The world truly suffered a great loss on March 30, 2023. Dorothy will be missed by all who knew her, but they will have wonderful memories to cherish for a lifetime.
Visiting hours will be held at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755 on Wednesday April 5, 2023 from 9:00-10:00 am where a funeral service will begin at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, New Jersey.
