Mom, I have mixed feelings.  I love you and I am going to miss you, but knowing that God has greater things planned for his children I am happy for you.  My most comforting thought is that of Joey and Dad greeting you.  I imagine Joey so excited to see you, taking your hand and showing all the wonders that await us.  Of course Joey has a glass of ice water ready for you!  I want to thank you for making me the man that I am today. Losing Dad at 16 was tough but you had it tougher, but you held it together and I never realized that until I was adult.  It wasn't easy but we always seemed to get through it.  Our family had had little, but you gave much.  You proved it is possible to love one another.  Thank you Mom!

My thoughts and prayers to you Kathy, Marion and Bill. You mother was so dear to all of us and know that she now has her reward. She is home now. Love to all the grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Eleanor was beloved by many. She was a devoted mother to her kids, especially her son Joey who predeceased her. She loved her family, relatives and friends. She was a dedicated worker at the former St. Paul the Apostle parish in Irvington, NJ. Eleanor and my mom, the late Mildred Kreder, were great friends. They especially liked to do their Christmas shopping together. Eleanor also loved to talk to me about Lithuania where her parents and my grandparents were born. May Eleanor rest in a well deserved peace after a busy, energetic life!

I was just a kid when Mrs. Flatley worked at the cafeteria and cooked those famous Bingo Hotdogs at our beloved St. Paul's in Irvington.  I remember coming out of my classroom, and down the stairs to the cafeteria level.  I was drawn in by the smell of those hotdogs, and Mrs. Flatley right around the corner.  She was a sweet lady and though I don't remember too many details, I do remember her being a kind soul.  When you're a kid, these are the people who make an impression on you - when they reach out with kindness over the simplest of things.  The world needs more "Mrs. Flatleys."  You will be missed.  May God raise you up on eagles wings, and give comfort to your family during this difficult time.

THE word GRANDMA ,open a dictionary and you will see a picture of Eleanor Flatley,my grandmother.I cant begin to explain the heart ache we all have.I have so many stories to tell about grandma,i could probably write a book.Too sum it up,a GREAT woman,all our love,Carrie,Anthony and Tony gould.Rest in peace grandma

Mom, it was one week ago tonight that you left us.  I didnt think I would hurt so bad, but we were roomies and best friends for the last 9 1/2 yrs together. I first met Eleanor when my daughter started kindergarten at St. Paul's in Irvington. We had just moved into the neighborhood and realized that we lived across the street from each other.  On the days that I would be at St. Paul's, I would go down to the kitchen and have a cup of tea with Eleanor and have a chat.  She was always busy getting everything ready for the school children.  I worked Bingo on Friday and always had to have either a slice of her pizza or a hot dog.  And were we ever lucky if it was one of those special nights when she made her ham dinner special. The bingo players were always quite content with everything that she made for them.  The photo gallery of Eleanor and your family is so very special and nice of you to share.  Eleanor was a wonderful person.

When I met and fell in love with my husband-to-be, Bill Flatley, I was also greatly blessed to gain a wonderful Mother in Eleanor and a loving new family!  She not only welcomed me with open arms but my parents, sister, and my two nieces -- for this I will always feel grateful and blessed.  It's up to us to keep the family together now so Eleanor can smile down upon us! God Bless You, Mom
