

Frank (Francis) P. Caputo Jr., 72, of Toms River, NJ passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at his home on Friday, August 15, 2025. Born in Lyndhurst, NJ to the late Frank Sr. and Marie Caputo, Frank grew up in Kearny, moved to Hazlet, NJ once married and later lived in the Poconos, Albrightsville PA and Morganville, NJ to finally retire to Toms River one year ago. Frank worked as an X-Ray Technician for Dr. Ricciardelli and Dr. Rao in Bayonne NJ for many years. Afterwards he continued work at EMO and Mobilex in NJ retiring in 2010 after 45 years in the profession.
Frank was a Fourth Degree Knight and Past Grand Knight in the Vince Lombardi Council of Knights of Columbus in Middletown, NJ where he was an active member devoting his time serving others. He enjoyed music, playing the accordion and piano, and dancing with his loving wife and friends. He loved the beach, cruises, and campfires with dear friends and family. Mostly he loved his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He cherished his brothers and brother-in-law Danny. Although stricken with dementia in later life, he was always happy, shaking hands and hugging everyone. Always making others smile.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Dorothy (nee Murawinski) and his two children: daughter Bernadette Makar, NP (spouse Michael) and son Francis Caputo, MD (spouse Jacqueline); his beloved grandchildren: Isabella and Gabriella Caputo, and Michael and Mia Makar. He is survived by his three brothers: Philip (spouse Margie), Michael (spouse late Kathy) and John (spouse Yvonne); sister-in-law Nancy; many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins; and, Aunts Rosemarie Loccke and Mary Ann Caputo.
A visitation will be held Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 4-8 pm at Quinn Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 08755. A second visitation will be held Friday, September 5, 2025, from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, September 6, 2025, 12 pm at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 130 St Maximilian Ln, Toms River, NJ 08757.
