Gloria was born in Englewood, NJ and went with her family to their hometown of Riccia, Italy, where she remained until she was 25. She met the most beautiful man in the town, Pietro del Lupo, where they fell in love and were engaged for many years. They married in 1953, relocated across the Atlantic to live Park Ridge, NJ and worked hard to make a wonderful life. Gloria was an amazing woman and despite her thick Italian accent, she was able to express love and affection to everyone she encountered. She outlived most of her friends and relatives. Her personal life was exemplified by a deep faith in God and an unbelievable devotion to her family even in her last years. She was able to have an attentive ear and loving heart to any issues that may have come up with her children and extended family. She was so loved that even her children’s friends considered her a mom calling her on her birthday and holidays, sending her her favorite chocolates, and making extra trips to come visit her. It was like she had extra children. She continued to go to church, read her Bible, pray, cook, and live an independent life up until just a few short weeks before God called her home. Gloria may have come into this life quietly, and she may have left quietly, but for sure there was a huge homecoming up in heaven when she arrived. She will be greatly missed until we see her again.
At the age of 93, Gloria moved to Clearwater, FL after living in Toms River, NJ for over 35 years. She retired as a customer service representative for Burroughs Inc. after 30 years of service. She was a former communicant of St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church in Toms River.
Gloria was predeceased by her husband Pietro in 1993. She is survived by two daughters, Nancy
Malinconico and Rita Briles; four grandchildren Dennis Briles, Adrienne Hamby (Brannon), Matthew
Malinconico (Liz) and Angela Malinconico; also 6 great-grandchildren Rylah, Keruso, Kuyper, Theo, Niko
and Wesley.
