

James Paul Allocco, 78, passed away on April 16, 2026. Born on April 26, 1947, in Summit, New Jersey, James raised his family in South Plainfield and later moved to Toms River, New Jersey. He will be remembered as a beloved and cherished presence in the lives of those who knew him.
James was a Vietnam Navy Veteran who proudly served his country. Following his service, he dedicated many years to the Lacey Township School District, where he worked as a Custodial Engineer and was valued for his steady commitment and reliability.
James was predeceased by his wife, Carol, the love of his life, who passed in 2013, and by his two brothers, Salvatore Allocco and Nicholas Allocco. He is survived by his daughter, Kelly Homiek, and her husband, Edward; his grandchildren, Kristi Rose Corrigan and her husband, Kevin, James Paul Stebila and his wife, Victoria, Jayla Rose Homiek, and Jake Paul Homiek; and his great-grandson, Kellen Mack Corrigan. Also surviving are his sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Joe Kessler, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
James found joy in life’s simple pleasures and the company of others. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the NY Yankees and the Miami Dolphins, and he loved spending time up on the boardwalk and having a few drinks. Known to many for playing the spoons, James brought warmth, laughter, and a sense of togetherness to gatherings with family and friends—moments that will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.
Cremation will be private.
