James J. McCauley

James, “Jim”, “Mac”, or “PopPop”, as he was known was born in Jersey City NJ, to James Joseph McCauley and Martha Sloane. He lived the early part of his life there, graduating from Lincoln High School and attending Jersey City College for two years. While in high school he met the love of his life, Rosetta (Busby) and they would later move to Lake Parsippany in 1958 where they raised their beautiful family and lived for the next 39 years before moving to Toms River. He worked at PSE&G for 39 years before retiring in 1992.

James was a loyal NY Giants fan. He was longtime member of the Parsippany Elks Club, and a member of the Silver Ridge Park North volunteer ambulance squad for over 20 years.

He is preceded in death by his only son, James V McCauley. He is survived by his wife of 75 years Rosetta (Busby), three daughters, Maryann (Jeff) Kay of Seminole, FL, June Caron of Lomita, CA and Diane (George) O’Sullivan of Douglasville, PA and a daughter in-law, Cheryl McCauley of Denville, NJ. 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

A visitation for James will be held Tuesday, September 12, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Quinn Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 08755. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM, 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 08755. Interment will follow to Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 225 Ridgedale Ave, East Hanover, NJ 07936.
