

James J. Sheridan, 88, of Toms River, NJ passed away at home on Friday December 7, 2012. Born in NYC, and raised in Jersey City, he lived in East Brunswick, NJ for 28 years before moving to Toms River, NJ 10 years ago. A graduate of the US Merchant Marine Academy, James was a veteran of the US Merchants Marines having served in WW II. He attended St. Peters Prep, Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute, NYU, and Rutgers University. He was a manager at Price Waterhouse Coopers in NYC for over 20 years, retiring in 1986.
James was predeceased by his first wife, Virginia Pomidoro Sheridan and his step-daughter Kathleen Feczko.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years Mary Branagan Sheridan; his daughter Patricia Emma of West Hempstead, NY, three sons, James J. Sheridan, II, of Indianapolis, IN, Thomas Sheridan of Cranford, NJ, and Michael Sheridan of Monroe, CT, as well as his step-daughter Mary Salerno, three step-sons James Branagan, John Branagan, and William Branagan. He is also survived by his brother Edward Sheridan of East Brunswick, NJ and his sister, Virginia Reinartsen of Spring Hill, Florida. He has 29 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be on Saturday December 15, 2012 from 9 to 10 AM at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 08755. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Toms River at 10:30 AM. Cremation will be private. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.quinn-hoppingfh.com
