Joan B. Whitehead

Joan B. Whitehead age 64 of Whiting passed away peacefully Tuesday February 3rd at Community Medical Center, Toms River. She worked for Community Surgical Supply, Toms River and prior as a claims adjuster for AIG Insurance Company, New York City and as a LPN for Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune and Bayview Convalescent Center, Bayville. Joan received A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Stockton College, Galloway. She volunteered for Van Dyke Hospice, Toms River, loved to garden and was an avid Dallas Cowboys and New York Met fan. Joan’s family will always cherish the Christmas stockings that she made. Born in Jersey City she lived in Secaucus and Toms River before moving to Whiting. We will always miss you Joan. Surviving are her loving husband Bob, her sister Janice Maloney and her husband Stephen of Barnegat, her brothers Richard Kowalewski and his wife Roe of Port Orange, FL, Steven Kowalewski and his wife Christine of Beachwood, 5 nieces Tracy, Kristin, Aimee, Kelly and Carly, 1 nephew Collin, 4 stepchildren Sheree Hughes, Rob Whitehead, Debbie Gilbert and Wendy Madieros, 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Visiting will be Saturday from 2-4 & 6-9 pm with a funeral service at 8:30 pm at the Quinn Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Rd. Toms River. Burial will be Private.
