John Carlson

John Carlson, 79, of Toms River passed away Thursday September 24, 2020 at Rose Garden Rehab and Nursing Home, Toms River. Born and raised in Jersey City, NJ John had lived in Lynhurst, and Metuchen before moving to Toms River in 2004. John had been a Tractor Trailer driver for twenty years before moving into a Concierge position in NYC, which he retired from in 2004. John was a US Army Veteran and was the past President of the 82nd Airborne, Northern Jersey Chapter. He took great pride and proudly served his country.

John was predeceased by his four siblings; two brothers, Charles Carlson and Roger Carlson, two sisters, Janet Hynes and Bettianne Kwiakowski. John is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Brenda and his two daughters; Kelly Rodriguez and her husband Marc, Kim Sofio and her husband Frank, six grandchildren; Lauren, Justin, Julianna, Adam, Zachary and Alina. John is also survived by his two sisters, Kathleen Zdanowicz and her husband James and Joan Morreale and a host of loving nieces, nephews and relatives.

Visitation will be held Thursday October 1, 2020 11 am till 1 pm at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River with Interment to follow to the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Rd., Wrightstown, N 08562 at 2:30 pm.
