John Maffei Sr., of Old Bridge NJ, formerly of Toms River, died peacefully on March 13, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Josephine of 67 years, of Old Bridge NJ; son John Jr. of Florida; daughters Antoinette Maciaszek and Maryann Sena of NJ; grandchildren Christopher Maffei of AZ, Melanie Sena, Alyssa Maciaszek and Mark Maciaszek of NJ; and sister-in-law Rose Krake and husband Michael Farano of NJ. He was a veteran in the US Navy during WWII aboard the aircraft carrier US Hancock. He was employed by Ward Foods (Tip Top Bakery) for most of his life. He enjoyed being with family and his passion for horse racing.
