

Josephine D’Aquanni, 90, of Toms River passed away Sunday February 26th, 2012 at Community Medical Center in Toms River surrounded by her loving family. She was born and grew up in Yonkers and later moved to Fort Pierce, FL prior to moving to Toms River in 1986. She was a communicant of St. Maximilian Kolbe R.C. Church in Toms River and belonged to the HCB Women’s Club, Singles Club, Craft Club and Bowling League. Josephine worked as a handicap student teacher’s aide for the Yonkers Public School System where she received the “PTA Jenkins Award” in 1975. She also was a line dance instructor and enjoyed playing Rummikub and Bocce. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years Thomas Sr. and son Richard, both in 2004. She is survived by her son Thomas Jr. of Morristown, NJ, daughter Patricia and husband Philip Denema of Pawling, NY, 8 grandchildren Michael and wife Amara D’Aquanni of Mendham, NJ, Daniel D’Aquanni of Hoboken, Andrew D’Aquanni of Vail, CO, Paula Denema of Atlanta, GA, Philip and wife Colleen Denema of Danbury, CT, Gabrielle DePinto-D’Aquanni of Morris Plains, NJ, Peter Denema of NYC and Matthew D’Aquanni of Morristown, NJ, 3 great-grandchildren Nico, Ella Grace and Brennen, sister Ilda and husband Henry Agostinho, FL, sister-in-law Marietta Pompilio of GA, and many, many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday February 28th, 2012 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm at The Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday February 29th, 2012 at 11:30am at St. Maximilian Kolbe R.C. Church. Interment will follow at the New Jersey Veteran’s Cemetery.
