Leonard Cerame

Leonard Cerame, 87, of the Holiday Heights section of Berkeley Township, passed away on Friday August 23, 2019 at The Pines at Whiting. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Leonard was a lifetime resident there before moving to Berkeley Township 24 years ago. He was a veteran of the US Army. Leonard was a retired carpenter having worked over 40 years in the trade. He was a member of the Italian American Club, played softball for the Holiday Heights Softball team and was very active in the Holiday Heights clubhouse before moving to The Pines at Whiting.

Leonard is survived by his wife of 66 years Loretta Zaccheo Cerame; two sons, Leonard M. Cerame and his wife Donna of Chatham, NY and Michael Cerame and his wife Malou of Bloomfield, NJ; his daughter Loretta M. Cerame-Giuliani of East Northport, NY and his four grandchildren, Francesca, Zachary, Nicholas and Steven.

Leonard, devoted husband, father and grandpa aka Papa was a hardworking, gentle soul with a loving heart. Leonard's patience and dedication to his family was immeasurable. A man of few words, Leonard touched, impressed and impacted the many lives that came into his presence.

Leonard's passion for carpentry, a true craftsman of his trade, hand created and built treasured pieces for his home as well as his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered for his beautiful smile and twinkling blue eyes.

Visiting hours will be held from 2-6 pm on Tuesday August 27, 2019 at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755. A funeral service will be celebrated at 5:30 pm at the funeral home. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his honor to the Wounded Warrior Fund.
