

Lucy M. Blozen, 93, of Mars, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at the VA Medical Center in Butler, PA surrounded by her loving family. Lucy was a sergeant in the Women’s US Army Corp having served in WW II from 1943 to 1946. She had worked for many years as a secretary/teacher in a parochial school in Brooklyn, NY. She was an amazing woman and was very loved by her family and friends.
Lucy was predeceased by her husband John Blozen and her sister Anne Mastria and her brother Gerald Ackerman. She is survived by her son David J. Blozen (Janice) of Brooklyn, NY; two daughters Susan DeRiso of Mars, PA and Carol Gipson (James) of Lake George, NY; one brother, William Ackerman (Marion) of Iselin; four sisters, Rita Policastro of Toms River, NJ, Johanna Mele of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, Antoinette Craven of Keyport, NJ and Patricia Uhrig of Newark, NJ. her dear friend Phyllis Grasser of Mars, PA and is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 6 great- grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday September 23, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 08755. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday September 24, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Toms River. Cremation will be private.
