Lynn, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away suddenly on July 22, 2025 in Toms River, NJ, at the age of 68. While her loss leaves an enormous void, we take comfort in knowing she is once again with her soulmate, Jack.
Lynn grew up in West Orange, where she was raised by her loving parents, Jack and Lorraine Silverman, alongside her three sisters—Karen, Shelli, and Beth—her closest companions throughout life. It was in high school that she met her soulmate, Jack Blind, on a “blind” date—who lovingly called her his “turtledove.” Together they built a beautiful life and raised their two daughters, Perri and Jessie, in the same town they both called home.
Lynn was known for the deep and lasting friendships she nurtured throughout her life. She stayed close with friends from childhood as well as those from her career as a real estate processing agent—forming bonds that extended well beyond the workplace. Her warmth and thoughtfulness left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
After retiring in 2022, Lynn and Jack moved to Toms River to be closer to their children. Though her time in retirement was short and marked by the heartbreaking loss of her husband in 2023, Lynn continued to show incredible strength and grace. Even in the face of grief, she opened her heart to new experiences—joining activities, volunteering, and, in doing so, forming meaningful friendships that brought comfort, laughter, and light into her life.
A proud Yankees fan, Lynn found joy in the simple pleasures—days at the beach with family, afternoons by the pool, latch hooking, painting pottery, and discovering a great BOGO deal. But her greatest joy was being surrounded by family. Nothing made her happier than having her whole family in the same room, sharing stories and laughter.
Lynn was deeply loving, thoughtful and full of heart. She made everyone feel cared for, always checked in, and never let a moment pass without making it just a little brighter.
She is predeceased by her parents, Jack and Lorraine Silverman; her husband, Jack Blind; her mother- and father-in-law, William and Jean Blind; her brother-in-law, Lou Verrone; and her beloved niece, Kimmy Fredericks.
She is survived by her daughters, Perri Barra (Joe) and Jessie Blind (Brett); her grandchildren, Ava and Ian; her sisters, Karen Seyferth (Bob), Shelli Brenner (Rob), and Beth Verrone; her sister-in-law Sandy Faruolo (Don); and a large extended family of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends who loved her deeply.
A celebration of Lynn’s life will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025 from 12 pm to 3 pm at Ravello Banquet Hall, 138 Eagle Rock Ave., East Hanover, NJ 07936. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Red Cross or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Lynn’s memory.
