With the most profound and deepest love, Marco Antonio Lugo, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, cousin, uncle and friend went into the arms of His Savior and Lord, surrounded by his loving family and friends on Sunday, January 18, 2026.
Born on September 5, 1973 in Hoboken NJ to father, Jose Antonio Lugo, and mother, Rocio Freire, their only son brought so much joy and wonder to his mother. He grew to enjoy a wonderful childhood, from freestyling and BMX bike riding, trips with friends to enjoying his passion about cars, specifically his 1988 Mustang to finding the love of his life, Laurel Lugo.
With his love of his life, he embarked on a wonderful journey for over 26 years of being an exemplary family man; as well as working successfully and with integrity as a professional car salesman.
He radiated with joy and with such profound love welcomed his only son, Marco Antonio Lugo Jr. to then follow with such deep love and devotion to his beautiful little baby girl, Carly Rose Lugo.
He knew he was blessed. Blessed with love. Blessed with family. Blessed with friends. Marco knew each day was a blessing to wake up and genuinely self sacrificed for his beautiful children and wife, no matter what challenges arose.
He was a man who was obedient to God, a man who stood on his convictions and principles and lived it with such confidence and humility. Always quick witted, sharp and sass, qualities his children have uniquely captured along with his wife; he was a magnet to all making everyone want to be around him.
Marco selflessly dedicated himself to help and encourage all, friends and family. "Always keep moving, never settle..." . He was always striving for excellence without ever seeking anything in return.
One of his many accomplishments was to get baptized December 6, 2024. That was Marco. His life Bible verse is Romans 8:31-39 … What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He outwitted each challenge face on by giving it to God and then seeing how God outmatched and blessed him every time.
Battling and facing health challenge, Marco was more than a conqueror. His devotion to God taught him to trust in His heavenly Father and that fruit showed. He gave his all being a wonderful father, loving son, a faithful husband, cherished fun, loving brother, cousin and friend.
Marco's legacy is survived by his devoted wife, Laurel, his son, Marco Antonio Jr. and daughter, Carly Rose Lugo; along with his mother Rocio Freire, sisters, Marianna, Chantell, Christina and brother, Tony Lugo.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents and now joins them in the presence of the King of Glory.
May his memory be a blessing and testimony of living fully, blessed and faithful. Well done good and faithful servant.
Matthew 25:21 "His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord."
A viewing and celebration of life will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026 from 4-8 pm at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River, with funeral services to be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, 9:30 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow to Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport.
