Michael E. Buchanan

Michael E. Buchanan, 73, of Toms River, NJ passed away on Saturday February 22, 2020 at JFK Medical Center in Edison, NJ. Born in Newark, NJ, Michael was raised in Irvington and lived in Wallington before moving to Toms River 10 years ago. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp having served in Vietnam. Michael was a member of Grace Calvary Church in Ship Bottom, NJ.

Michael is survived by his loving wife of 25 years Ruth Vander Wiele Buchanan; his son Jon Buchanan and his wife Kirstin; two sisters, Diane Barabas and her husband Ed and Maureen Buchanan and her companion Joseph Schmidt; his brother Brian Buchanan and his wife Susan; his sister-in-law Carolyn Howe and her husband Bob. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Patricia.

A visitation will be held on Thursday February 27, 2020 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 am. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery 350 Provinceline Road Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
