Michael J Valinoti 73, of Toms River died Saturday February 6. He was born in New York City to Michael and Graciella Valinoti. Mike (Unc, Dad) as he was referred to, graduated from Chelsea High School. Mike had a long career with United Parcel Services. Mike married and later moved to Hazlet NJ where he and his wife raised their family. Mike enjoyed retirement traveling the East Coast in his RV that he long dreamed of owning. He and his wife moved to Port St Lucie so he could be closer to his favorite baseball team, the NY Mets Spring training facility.
Mike and his wife eventually returned to New Jersey to be closer to watch his family grow.
Anyone who knew Mike, even for a minute, knew his passion for hockey. A lifelong NY Rangers fan, he would tell tales of his youth getting into Madison Square Garden for little money to see his favorite team.
Mike is predeceased by his parents Michael and Graciella, his sisters Rachael, Theresa, and Anna. Besides leaving behind many friends in New Jersey, Mike leaves behind his daughter Grace Ann and her husband Bob of Red Bank, his two sons Michael Jr of Lakehurst, and Gerald of Toms River. Mike also leaves behind 5 grandchildren Ashley, Robert, Jason, Tyler, and Amanda.
Services will be held Saturday February 13, 9:00am to 11:00am at Quinn Hopping followed by an interment service at Ocean County Memorial Park.
We ask that you keep Mike, his wife Geri, and all those that have departed in your hearts.
