Pauline Damiano, 96, of Manchester, NJ, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 4, 2025, at Community Medical Center in Toms River, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, Pauline spent much of her life in Bensonhurst and Mill Basin, Brooklyn, before residing in Toms River (Holiday City South) and eventually settling in Manchester. A proud and independent businesswoman, Pauline was the owner of Pauline’s Tops and Bottoms, a women’s clothing store in Bensonhurst, where she built lasting relationships with her community and customers.
A devoted communicant of St. Maximilian Kolbe Roman Catholic Church in Toms River, Pauline’s faith was a steady presence in her life. She and her beloved late husband of 74 years, Sal “Bo” Damiano, shared a deep bond and many cherished memories — from frequent trips to Atlantic City to weekly card games with their close-knit group of friends.
Pauline had a passion for cooking and an even greater love for spending time with her family. Her warmth, humor, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was predeceased by her husband Sal “Bo” in 2023 and is survived by her devoted daughter, Cathy Roma, "her beloved son-in-law Tommy preceded her in death.”; her loving grandchildren, John Roma and his wife Christina, and Victoria LaBarbera; and her cherished great-grandsons, Marco and Tommy.
