Pete was born in Jersey City, NJ and grew up mostly in Little Ferry, NJ where he attended Ridgefield Park High School (Class of 1959). He spent his high school years playing in several area bands with some members that later had breakout careers immortalized in the film "Jersey Boys."
A veteran of the US Army, Pete was stationed in Munich, Germany during the height of the Cold War in the early 1960s. He often told stories about running supplies to West Berlin and ongoing maneuvers monitoring the Soviets on the other side of the Iron Curtain.
Back from the Army, Pete met and married the love of his life, Joanne Eberhardt, and worked at ITT/Federal Electric before becoming a mailman in Ramsey, NJ for nearly 30 years. At first, they lived in Mahwah then moved just over the border to Bellvale, NY where they raised their two children. In retirement, they lived in Ballston Spa, NY before settling in Toms River.
Pete will be missed by his family for his jokes and witty remarks in just about any situation. In recent years he even plied his interests in writing numerous screenplays and TV show creations from sitcoms to game shows. Many of his works were optioned and Pete lined the wall around his computer with framed contracts.
His love of baseball and entertainment live on in his family as his teenage grandchildren pursue their own interests in sports and dance.
In addition to his wife, Peter is survived by his children, Bill Berezansky (Michele) of Guilderland, NY, and Jill Lisowski (Mark) of Knoxville, TN, and two grandchildren, Harry and Anna.
