Born in Paterson, he resided in Parlin, Lakewood, and Lakehurst before settling in Berkeley 17 years ago.
A graduate of Cedar Ridge High School where he played on the football team, he went on to attend Middlesex Community College and Lincoln Technical University. After graduating, he became a diesel mechanic for Clayton Concrete, where he worked for 42 years. Bob coached his whichever football teams his sons were on and would never miss a game. He was also on the first aid squad in Parlin and took pride in helping others.
An avid Giants fan, Bob was proud to have a family with seasons tickets. He attended as many games as he could, rain or shine. He loved photography and invested in new cameras to enjoy his hobby. Bob's love of photography stemmed from his time spent with his aunt and uncle in California, where the time he spent in their dark room sparked an interested in getting behind the camera. He was a nature enthusiast and frequently captured photos of flowers, eagles, and anything to do with nature. One of his favorite places to visit was Longwood Gardens, where he could enjoy the scenery and capture the beauty of his surroundings. He and his close friend, Rick Gerrity, had many plans to attend seminars and take photos in Maine and Massachusetts. He will always be remembered for his passion behind the lens and his memory will be cherished through those he loved and through his pictures.
In recent years, he developed a support group for people suffering from Chron's Disease. He held monthly meetings to help others who were going through the same turmoils of the disease he suffered with.
