Samuel Hinds

Samuel Hinds, 65 of Whiting, NJ passed away Saturday, April 8, 2023 at his home with his loving daughter by his side. Born in Weston, St. James Barbados, Samuel immigrated to the United States in 1983. Before his health forced him into retirement, Samuel worked as a Mechanic for NJ Transit (Paterson Garage) for over 20 years.

Samuel enjoyed talking about the love of Jesus, spending time with family and friends, singing, playing the guitar, photography, building/fixing computers, cooking/baking, helping people and fishing.

Samuel was predeceased by his parents, James and Muriel Hinds, 2nd mom Dolores Roberts, mother-in-law Patricia Cumberbatch; his brothers Sherwin, Bentley and Philip Hinds; and wife Marva Hinds.

He is survived by his two children, Jaime and Marcia Hinds; grandchildren, Ky'marei, Jaime Jr, Ja’lisa and Promise Hinds and William Lambert Jr; his siblings, sisters Shirley Bruce and Margo (Scott) Kennington-Miller; brothers, Wordsworth and Theo (Michelle) Hinds and Charlie Roberts; father-in-law Keith Cumberbatch; brothers-in-law Jeffrey and Colvin Cumberbatch and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, relatives and family who love and miss him dearly.

A Celebration of Samuel’s life will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at 11:00 AM
