Stanley was born in Elizabeth, N.J. on January 20, 1943 to Stella and Steve Kwiatek owners of the Blue Moon Grill and Tavern in the Polish section of Bayway. Originally, he studied to become a priest but then changed his mind and joined the Navy. He served 4 years in Vietnam and upon returning he met his wife, Barbara Matlosz. They were married September 6, 1969 and had two daughters: Donna Marie Kwiatek Conroy and Denise Danielle Kwiatek Velasquez. He had seven grandchildren: Alexander Velasquez, who he helped deliver, Travor Conroy, Jack Conroy, twins Megan & Paige Conroy, Brianna Velasquez, and Gabriel Velasquez. He is also survived by his sister Eleanore Schnieder, his seven godchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He served as a police officer for 29 years on the Union Township Police Force. He retired from the force and was a professor at Kean University in Union Twp, N.J. He retired two years later.
He was a Navy disabled veteran and participated in "Honor Flights" and just received the "Quilt of Valor".
He was ordained a Deacon on June 11, 2005 in Holy Spirit Church in Union Twp, N.J. and upon retiring to Manchester, he served at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church in Toms River. He was spiritual advisor to the Knights of Columbus as a 4th degree Knight, Holy Rosary Society, and the Columbettes. Every Friday he led adoration in the church chapel. Stanley, Evelyn Spital, and Father George Keating were the original founders of of St. Philomena's Helpers and Servants to the Suffering and the Poor here in New Jersey. He served as Assistant Director of the organization. The organization is located worldwide.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, January 8, 2023 at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, 130 St. Maximilian Lane, Toms River from 9:30 am till 11:30 am with a mass of christian burial to follow at 12:00 pm in the church. Interment will proceed to the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
