Thomas Ahearn

Thomas Ahearn, 69, of Toms River formerly of Union passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Staten Island, NY to the late William and Anna Ahearn, Thomas had lived in Union before moving to Toms River 8 months ago. Thomas was a Container and Chasis Inspector with Flexi Van out of Kenilworth, NJ.

Thomas was a life member of the Elks – Union BPOE 1583 and served as the exalted ruler and district deputy east central district. He was the Treasurer of the Union Twp., Boy Scouts. He enjoyed educating his grandchildren during the pandemic, traveling with his wife and friends, listening to music, but most importantly spending time with his family.

Thomas is survived by his loving wife Karen and his three children; Kristin Szawan and her husband George, Brian and his wife Kayte and Thomas and his wife Stephanie, his five grandchildren; Gabriella, Luke, Harrison, Jameson, Leandro. He is also survived by his sister Barbara Jones and her husband Timothy, his brother William Ahearn and his wife Marion and a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A visitation for Thomas will be held Sunday, May 21, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753. A funeral service will occur Monday, May 22, 2023 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home.
